Second Graders Embody History
Where else can Einstein chat up Walt Disney or Pocahontas swap wilderness tips with Steve Irwin? Why, at Saint Edward's Second Grade Biography Day, of course! Second graders capped off their biography study with a presentation of their chosen historical figure. Mrs. Voyles and Mrs. Newman's second-grade students prepared for Biography Day as they do each year by each reading a biography of a famous person, then writing a report telling of the person's life and giving an opinion of the book. Students had the opportunity to dress as their chosen subject and learn about the lives of many famous people through their classmates' portrayals. Students learned about history and humanity and became inspired to make a difference in the world.
