Seventh Grade English Paired Text Workout
To experience a more in-depth exposure to the themes in A Long Walk to Water, seventh-grade English students read the short story The Last Class: The Story of a Little Alsatian by Alphonse Daudet. In both these texts, the protagonists have to deal with unexpected and drastic change. Both readings required students to synthesize information, preparing them for their future studies where they will be sorting and analyzing a lot of information.
