MS & US Science Fair Winners Announced
Our Pirate scientists didn't let the challenges of COVID distract them from competing in the 2020-2021 Science Fair. Science Department Chair Dr. Kerryane Monahan says, "Saint Edward’s swept the Senior state bids for the first time in our history. We took the lone ISEF bid, plus Best in Show in both Junior and Senior Divisions! As in the past, we did very well in special awards and categories. Kudos to the students and Mr. Rogers and Dr. LP for serving as great mentors."
In addition to achieving Best In Show, junior Oscar Lindenthal was the sole INTEL bid winner in the county. Late Tuesday he was also invited to do a poster presentation at the Florida Regional Junior Science, Engineering, and Humanities Symposium. Only one other Saint Edward's student has achieved this level of recognition. Dr. Monahan says, "Oscar's project is truly novel and potentially a game-changer for pollution research."
