The Flow Cube and Design in the History of Art

The seventh and eighth grades conducted research on various periods of Design in Art History. They researched influences, background, principles of design, artworks and artists that related to their time period and presented their findings to the class. They also created “Flow Cubes” in the style of their Art History time period. The Flow Cubes must be designed flat but viewed in three dimensions, so students had to plan their designs accordingly. Days of research, experimentation, synthesis and revision are needed to make compelling Presentations and Flow Cubes.
