Terry Mitchell's homeroom is filled with Pirate Pride and the Aloha spirit! Dubbed 'Mitchell's Minions', Mr. Mitchell's homeroom has adopted a Hawaiian theme for the year, and they hope to spread a sense of ohana throughout the entire school community! Fridays in Mitchell's homeroom have become 'Aloha Fridays': students wear their 'Mitchell's Minions' t-shirts or Hawaiian shirts, and they enjoy treats like donuts with Hawaiian music in the background while they take a few minutes to connect with each other and catch up before starting their day. This week Dr. Hirstein (a former resident of Hawaii) stopped by and was prepared to blend in: he was decked from head to toe in his Tommy Bahama's finest and pineapple socks! Mr. Mitchell hopes that this theme catches on. He would love to see the whole School catch the 'Aloha' spirit and celebrate along with them! Parting words from Mr. Mitchell: "As we say in Hawaii: Makemake makou i ka maluhia a me ke aloha mau!" (We want lasting peace and love!) *eNews: click the headline to see more photos
