Hirstein HEADlines: Becker Pool Update

Dear Saint Edward’s School Community:

Thank you for your patience over the past number of months as we have navigated the Becker Pool expansion and renovation project. The Buildings and Grounds Committee (B&G) of the board has been busy soliciting and negotiating with two contractors, which has been challenging given the pricing changes because of inflation, supply chain issues, and some scope work modifications.

I am happy to report that the board has approved the final project cost and the recommendation from B&G to use Myrtha Pools as our partner in this project. I will share the final design of the pool once this has been completed and finalized. 

We will now enter the design and permitting stage and hope to break ground sometime in August of 2022.

I can’t say enough about the leadership of Board Members Jason Fykes and John Huyrn, who have taken on this project because of their love for Saint Edward’s and commitment to our school community. As volunteers, they have dedicated countless hours to our school community, this project, and our entire campus over the last few years. We owe them an enormous amount of gratitude and respect, so if you see them around, please thank them.
