Investigating Fossils in Second Grade

Second-grade students are investigating fossils in science. Students have learned the differences between body and trace fossils, how fossils are formed, and about paleontologists. Students learned how a paleontologist uncovers fossils using specialized tools. Check out our trilobite activity by clicking on this link. Students learned how paleontologists reconstruct fossils by participating in our mystery fossil activity. Students used knowledge about vertebrate animals to reconstruct the skeleton and create drawings. Everyone is enjoying the second-graders interactive bulletin board.
