On 8/24/22, the varsity boys cross country team began their regular season by competing in the St. Lucie West Centennial Invite in Port. St. Lucie. The Pirates finished 5th place out of the 8 competing teams. The Pirates were paced by eighth-grader Jack Curley, who finished 19th place. Freshmen Jimmy Collins (32nd place) and Thomas Leonard (41st place) ran well for the Pirates, and junior AJ Munz (53rd place) and sophomore Jay Leibek (54th place) helped contribute to the successful day for the Pirates.
In their second meet of the season, the Pirate team traveled to Lawnwood Stadium in Fort Pierce on 8/31/22 to compete in the Wayne Cross Invitational. Despite finishing 6th place, the Pirates saw continued improvements. Curley led the Pirates on the course, capturing 8th place. Senior Jack Eidemueller grabbed 32nd place for the Pirates, and Leonard finished in 35th place. Following closely were Munz at 37th place and Leibek in 43rd place.
Next meet is away on 9/10/22 at the Astronaut Invitational at Chain of Lakes Park in Titusville, beginning at 7:50 AM.
