This week, our Little Pirates got a chance to combine their learning across multiple subjects in a fun and creative way! We tied together our letter of the week, handwriting practice, and geometry unit in math by making robots. Little Pirates got to cut out colorful shapes and used these shapes to create their own unique robots, reinforcing the geometric concepts of shapes and sizes. In addition to practicing shapes, our theme was all about the letter "R"! The students had been learning what sound the letter "R" makes (robot, of course!) and had been practicing how to write the letter "R." As they assembled their robots, they reinforced the connection between the sound, shape, and letter, making learning both hands-on and fun!
