Mr. Mitchell Welcomed by Najjing Jinling High School in Nanjing, China
Advanced Studies Director Terence Mitchell recently visited the Najjing Jinling High School in Nanjing, China. The school of 2,500 students is one of the premier key schools of Jiangsu Province. The school has 100% of its students attending University with more than 25% attend the best Universities in China and around the world.
Two exchange teachers have come to Saint Edward's from the Jinling School: Nee Lao Shi (Neil) and Cao Lao Shi (Wenjuan). Mr. Mitchell was overwhelmed by the friendly greeting he received from Mr. Nee and the staff at the Jinling School. Mr. Mitchell indicated that Saint Edward's School and the Jinling School are working to establish a "sister school" relationship and hope to have formal exchange programs between students and faculty next year. He went on to say that the Jinling School is a superior academic institution with an outstanding faculty. "It will be an honor for Saint Edward's to develop a sister school relationship with the Jinling School," commented Mr. Mitchell.
While Mr. Mitchell was in Nanjing he also had an opportunity to meet former SES educator, Chris Angell, who is teaching at a local university in Nanjing.
