Richardson Family Foundation Chair 2013-2015: Camille Greene
Established by the Richardson Foundation in 2000, the Richardson Family Foundation Chair for Distinguished Teaching has been awarded to faculty member Camille Greene. Camille Greene was named holder of the Richardson Family Foundation Chair for Distinctive Teaching for the 2013-14 and 2014-15 school years.
The Richardson Family Foundation Chair for Distinguished Teaching pays tribute to a member of the Saint Edward’s School faculty who demonstrates the highest standards of excellence in teaching. The holder of this prestigious Chair consistently demonstrates a keen intellect, mastery of subject knowledge, outstanding teaching performance and a clear commitment to students and has captured the respect and admiration of his or her students and colleagues.
Camille Greene has been teaching at Saint Edward’s for 19 years, first in the Lower School, and for the past five years, as Learning Support Services Director and head of the School’s Academic Learning Lab (ALL), where she is a guide, an advocate and a resource to students, parents and other faculty on issues of learning differences. The focus of the A.L.L. is to provide students with strategies for effective and efficient study skills that complement their learning styles. Under her guidance the Learning Lab has become an invaluable hub for students. Camille has built a library of resources, audio books and textbooks to support students with learning differences and has been instrumental in teaching students strategies to be successful in our rigorous college preparatory environment. Head of School Mike Mersky stated, “Camille is the consummate educator. She cares deeply about the students she supports, and has built a program second to none in terms of supporting the work of children at Saint Edward’s School.”
