Varsity Girls Basketball Faces MIC in District Semis Heartbreaker

The varsity girls basketball competed in the Class 1A District 8 Semifinals on 2/6/25 in the Gonzalez-Lobo Activities Center against Merritt Island Christian School. The Pirates trailed the Cougars in the first half of the game but came back after halftime with a vengeance, holding the Cougars to 11 points in the second half. The Pirates narrowly fell to their opponents 36-40.

Avonti Jennings led the Pirates in scoring with 13 points. Gaby Collazo collected 9 points, and Shaniya Bryant recorded 8. Anastasia Headley put up 4 points for the team, and Amajyn Cannon chipped in 2.
