Abstract Art In Fifth Grade

In anticipation for Dot Day, fifth graders applied acrylic paint dots on paper paying close attention to placement. The students had fun using a smearing technique while experimenting with colors and texture.  Methods of adding and subtracting paint were used until the students were pleased with the composition, balance, rhythm and movement of their abstract masterpiece.
