SSAC 6A Tourney Runners-Up for Varsity Boys Soccer
The varsity boys soccer team hosted the SSAC Class 6A Soccer Championship games recently on Michael J. Mersky Field. On 1/13/23, the Pirates took on The Classical Academy of Sarasota in the tournament playoffs. Dominating on the field, the Pirates scored a 2-0 victory over the Patriots to move on to the finals. Brogan Buck recorded 1 goal and 1 assist, Jah Jeune nabbed 1 goal, and William Kourakis contributed 1 assist toward the victory.
The Pirates played Faith Christian Academy at home for the SSAC 6A Championship. Despite a valiant effort on the field, the Pirates tied their opponents 2-2 but fell just short of winning the conference title in penalty kicks. Scoring a goal each for the Pirates were Buck and Brandon Cochrane.
