MUN Braves the Tundra

From Tobias Tettamanti, ‘20 and George Sowles, ‘21: A group of eleven students attended the 31st annual Model United Nations of Chicago, which was held from the 7th to the 10th of February.  The college students who run MUNUC always put forward a challenging committee, and this year was no exception.  From historic committees to modern crises, our delegation supported an eclectic range of committee assignments. When we weren’t conferencing, our students were eager to explore Chicago and all of its destinations.

Our first night, we went to the Russian Tea House in downtown Chicago, where we drank authentic Russian tea and ate beet Borscht soup while discussing our plans for the next few days. The weekend went by fast as we got lost in the busyness of each day. Out of conferences, our students attended many of Chicago's famous monuments, including The Chicago Art Institute, The Bean and Willis Tower. On Saturday night our students were delighted to attend the renowned “Hamilton” musical at the Hanover Theatre. As the trip came to an end, our students felt satisfied with the effort and energy they had put in, and we hope to attend the next MUNUC with a stronger team than ever before.
