View from a Middle School Student

Last week, in English class, eighth graders acted out tableaus, still representational scenes, from Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. We had fun props like swords, crowns, and the students who portrayed Juliet would sometimes wear a purple feather boa! In science, we completed our ‘Change of State’ lab, where we observed ice melting in a beaker over a hot plate. We recorded our data using Logger Pro. If you are in major acting, you are well aware that we are currently separated in groups, with certain scenes from the play You Can’t Take it With You. We each have assigned roles and have to use many different gestures and expressions when we perform in front of the class.
