Varsity Volleyball Stuns Lady Warriors in Regional Quarterfinals

The varsity volleyball team competed against City of Life Christian Academy in the Regional Quarterfinal Tournament held on 10/22/20 in the Wachter Activities Center. In a lengthy battle of wills, the determined Lady Pirates ultimately overcame the Lady Warriors in five thrilling sets: 25-19, 25-23, 15-25, 20-25, 15-8.

The Lady Pirates closed their first two sets with a win, only narrowly falling in the fourth set. In a great display of teamwork, the Lady Pirates lept ahead on the court during the last set to ensure their team's victory.

For the Lady Pirates, Alexa Soderman posted 7 aces, 18 kills, and 9 digs; and Alice Grace Lockwood recorded 2 aces and 9 kills. Teammate Miranda Morey collected 4 aces and 4 kills. Other notable stats for the Lady Pirates include Elliotte Kahler with 28 assists, Meredith Burgoon with 9 digs, and Izzy Jennings with 6 kills.

With this win, the varsity volleyball team has secured their spot in the Regional Semifinal Tournament next week.
