Varsity Swimming Competes at Regionals
On 11/7/20, the varsity swimming team traveled to Lake Highland Prep in Orlando to compete in the Regional Tournament meet.
For the Pirates, Alex Roberts finished in 18th place in the 500 Freestyle as well as 22nd for the 200 Freestyle. Jozef Wolek placed 19th in the 100 Breaststroke.
For the Lady Pirates, Faith Mead recorded 13th place in the 100 Freestyle and 19th place in the 50 Freestyle. Freshman Alexandra Stern was crowned Regional champion in the 500 Freestyle and obtained 2nd place in the 200 Freestyle. Both her 200 Freestyle time of 1:55.41 and her 500 Freestyle time of 5:01.43 break the previously set Saint Edward's School pool records Stern had recorded during Districts. Stern moves on to the State Championship, seeded 2nd for the 500 Freestyle and 10th for the 200 Freestyle.
In the team events, Mead, Stern, Samantha Decker and Caitlin Roberts captured 13th place in the Girls 200 Medley. For the Girls 200 Freestyle Relay, the team of Stern, Mead, Decker and Roberts placed 13th as well.
