States Finish for Lady Pirates Cross Country Sets School Record

(lk)
On 11/15/20, the Saint Edward's School varsity girls cross country team made their second straight trip to the State Championship meet being held at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee. Even though the number of both individual and team qualifiers were cut in half this season due to restrictions implemented by the FHSAA, the Lady Pirates gave their all on the field, with five of the seven girls running their best personal times at the meet. The team came in 14th place overall, the highest finish as a team at States in school history.

Leading the way for the Lady Pirates were sophomore Luna Rivera with 23:14, sixth grader Leah Chin with 23:39, junior Ellie MacMullan with 23:50, eighth grader Sienna Mallon with 23:58, junior Savanna Ware with 24:57, freshman Dhanika Perez with 26:08 and sixth grader Anna Marie Zugrave with 26:23.

Congratulations to the varsity cross country team for such an outstanding finish to the fall season!
