New Head Coach for Pirate Football Program

Current third-grade teacher and assistant varsity football coach Rich Schofield has been named the football program's new head coach for the 2021-22 football season. Coach Mark Gowin, who led the varsity football team to a winning season that was full of pandemic-related challenges, is retiring at the end of this school yearGowin states that “Rich is more than ready. He is an excellent football coach and can take the program to the next level.” Athletic Director Jeff Lamscha is equally bullish on Schofield, adding “Coach Schofield is the perfect choice to succeed Mark Gowin as the new head football coach. He works very hard on and off the field, he is a great communicator, relates well to the players and is a great teacher and mentor.
