Update: Glazed Coil Mugs

Ms. Sherrier (lk)
The sixth grade has an exciting update! They've been hard at work glazing their clay coil mugs, and the results have just come out of the kiln. Glazed clay pieces require two firings. Firing clay is the process of superheating it turn it solid. Clay pieces go through a bisque fire to become hard, and a second fire called a glaze fire to melt the painted liquid glass to the surface of the pottery. These sweet little pieces are all finished.
