Varsity Boys Lacrosse Crowned District Champs
On 4/15/21, the varsity boys lacrosse team faced off against The Benjamin School for the Class 1A District 8 Finals, held on the Michael J. Mersky Field. Trailing the first quarter, the Pirates made a brilliant comeback in the second quarter to pull ahead of the Buccaneers. Never wavering in their determination on the field, the Pirate team overcame their opponents, winning 17-10 and claiming the Class 1A District 8 title as champions. The Pirates will now move on to the Regional Semi-Finals tournament.
On the field stats for the Pirate team include 19 ground balls and 15 face-off wins.
Highlights for the Pirates: Danny Richmond - 1 goal, 4 assists; Ford Norris - 4 goals; Drew Sternberg - 3 goals, 1 assist; Riker Pratt - 2 goals, 2 assists; Oscar Lindenthal - 3 goals; Ricky Savage - 3 goals; Brennan Wolfe - 1 goal; Reed Sternberg - 1 assist; and Liam Murphy (goalie) 7 saves on 17 shots on goal.
