Sixth Graders Make a Joyful Noise and Collab with US Music Tech

PH (lk)
The sixth graders have gotten their instruments and have begun learning how to hold them using a good posture and hand position. To create the correct embouchure, brass players say the word "Mom" and then blow air through the tightened lips. For single reed instruments, like the clarinet and saxophone, students put their teeth on top of the mouthpiece and curve the bottom lip back a little to put the muscle of the lip on the reed. We hope you enjoy this video of sixth graders demonstrating proper hand position and good embouchures.

*The music in the video is from senior Louis DeSchouwer and the Upper School Music Tech class. #PiratePride
