Theatre Class Makes Masking Fun

MJ (lk)
"Mask Up" took on a whole new meaning when sixth-graders created animal masks in drama class in order to discover the origins of theatre in the Greek tradition. Theatre Arts Director Mrs. Baker says, "In Greek theatre, masks were worn by all the actors to exaggerate facial expressions and differentiate characters. The sixth grade chose an animal that they would like to create a mask for and then they will be doing some acting in classes next week with their masks." Students Maddie Moscrip, Margaret Fykes and Avery Orzechowski teamed up to show off cute and creative designs.
