Varsity Boys Lacrosse Upsets St. Thomas Aquinas

On 3/23/23, in a match-up featuring two of the highest-ranked teams in the state, the varsity boys lacrosse team faced off against St. Thomas Aquinas of Fort Lauderdale. With 7:41 remaining in the 4th quarter, the Pirates took a 7-6 lead into a lengthy lightning delay, only to hold only to victory as a late rally by St. Thomas Aquinas fell short. The Pirates improved to 9-3 on the season with their 8-7 victory over the Raiders.

Junior Reed Sternberg and senior Ford Norris raked in 2 goals and 1 assist apiece for the Pirates. Senior Ricky Savage also scored 2 goals for the team, and senior Eli Barin dished out 2 assists. Junior Luke Herrman and freshmen Connor O'Brien scored 1 goal apiece for the Pirates. The game was also highlighted by the stellar defensive play of junior Stone Colgan. Junior Kieran Colgan at goal saved 11 of the 18 shots fired by the Raiders.
