Varsity Cross Country Takes Part in Centennial Invite

The varsity boys and girls cross country teams competed at the Centennial Invite on 9/8/23 at St. Lucie West Centennial High School in Port St. Lucie.

The boys team captured 4th place overall in the meet, with Jack Curley leading the Pirates in a 19:35 finish to place 10th. Thomas Leonard achieved 16th place with his 20:22 time, and Bobby Campbell finished 20th with 20:43. Freshman Daniel Clemente set a personal record with his time of 23:49.

The girls race was cut short by lightning, and full team scores were not able to be tabulated. However, Carrington Brown led the pack with her exciting 2nd place finish with a time of 21:10, holding off the 3rd and 4th place runners by hundreds of a second. Jacquelyn Perrin received 19th place with her finish time of 24:12, while teammate Tyler Colgan hit a personal best of 39 seconds with her 21st place finish in a time of 24:38.
 
Next meet is away on 9/14/23 at the Wayne Cross Invitational, with races starting at 5:30 PM at Lawnwood Stadium in Fort Pierce.
