Varsity Girls Cross Country, Brown Capture Consecutive SSAA Titles

The varsity cross country team competed in the Sunshine State Athletic Association Championship on 9/23/23 at Holloway Park in Lakeland. For the second year in a row, the varsity girls team secured 1st place overall to bring home the trophy. Carrington Brown captured 1st place overall individually with a finish time of 21:25. Jacquelyn Perrin recorded a 13th place finish with her season-best time of 23:38. Tyler Colgan finished 27th with a 25:10, and senior team captain Liz Campbell hit over a 1 minute person record with 25:41. Charlie Cappelen and Isabella Peter rounded out the victory for the Pirates with both recording huge personal records at 26:15 and 26:52 respectively.
 
For the boys team, the Pirates finished 6th out of the 15 competing teams. Jack Curley led the pack with his personal best of 19:06 to finish 14th place. Bobby Campbell secured 31st place with his personal record time of 20:18. Rounding out the team scoring were Thomas Leonard with 20:27, senior captain AJ Munz with 22:41, and Alejandro Azona with 22:43.
 
Next meet is the Benjamin Invite on 9/30/23, starting at 8:00 AM at The Benjamin School in Palm Beach Gardens.
