Varsity Swimming Competes in IRSC HS Invitational

On 9/23/23, the varsity swimming teams participated in the Indian River State College High School Invitational in Fort Pierce. Out of the large number of high schools throughout the surrounding area that participated in the meet, the girls team finished 11th place overall, and the boys team finished 15th.

In the girls team events, Alexandra Stern collected 3rd place in the 200 Yard Individual Medley finals with 2:14.29. Stern also recorded a 3rd place finish in the 100 Yard Backstroke with 1:03.67. In the girls relay events, the team of Stern, Sophia Cetrulo, Samantha Decker, and Addison Logemann placed 8th in the 200 Yard Medley Relay with a 2:19.39. The team of Stern, Logemann, Decker, and Cetrulo also placed 8th in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay with 2:04.50.

In the boys team events, Jay Leibik tied for 14th place in the 50 Yard Freestyle finals with 25.08. Leibik also collected 17th place in the 100 Yard Freestyle Finals at 57.36. Jozef Wolek recorded 18th place in the 200 Yard Individual Medley finals with 2:42.23.  In the boys relay events, the team of Leibik, Matthew Burris, J. Wolek, and Alexander Wolek recorded a 9th place finish with 1:45.47 in the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay. The team of A. Wolek, J. Wolek, Leibik, and Burris also placed 12th in the 200 Yard Medley Relay with a 2:04.86.
 
Next meet is away on 10/3/23 at the North County Aquatic Center in Sebastian, starting at 4:30 PM.
