Homecoming Night Victory for Varsity Football

On 10/6/23, the varsity football team celebrated their Homecoming game by taking on Cocoa Beach Jr./Sr. High School in Pirate Stadium. In the first quarter, quarterback Nate Sparkman, who threw for 297 yards total, threw a touchdown pass to Cameron Barnes to get the game started for the Pirate team. Moving into the second quarter, Patrick MacMullan claimed a touchdown for the Pirates on a 1-yard run, and Sparkman threw an additional touchdown to MacMullan to push the Pirates further ahead. Sparkman connected with Amare McCoy for yet another touchdown to bring the score to 27-7 at halftime.

Despite the Minutemen mounting a comeback drive in the second half to make it a one-possession game, the Pirate defense rallied to shut down the Cocoa Beach attack. MacMullan blocked a point after touchdown and collected 10 tackles. Linebackers Mark Moore, McCoy, and Connor O'Brien proved vital in stopping the Minutemen's offensive line to help secure the 27-20 victory for the Pirate team.

Next game is away on 10/12/23 versus Boca Raton Christian School, starting at 4:00 PM in Boca Raton.
