Varsity Cheerleaders Make Homecoming Memorable

In the Homecoming night football game on 10/6/23 against Cocoa Beach Jr./Sr. High School, the varsity cheer squad led Pirate fans in chants and cheers from the sidelines as current Pirate families and alumni alike rooted for a Homecoming victory. The cheerleaders cheered to a packed stadium, which included the bustling Student Section who came out to support their peers on the field. The cheer team also debuted their pink pompoms at the game in support of October's Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Pirate mascot, junior Jack Engel, made his first home football game appearance to the delight of the crowd. Engel was instrumental in helping the cheerleaders energize the fans throughout the game from both on the field and in the stands as the football team went on to defeat the Minutemen in a thrilling 27-20 victory.

The cheer team unveiled a few newly learned cheers at the game, like "Rock the House" to get the crowd on their feet. They also chanted several familiar crowd-pleasing favorites like "Yell Out Your Colors, Pirates," "Stomp," "P-P-P-I-R," and "Dynamite."

In addition to their duties on the sidelines, the varsity cheerleaders and the Pirate mascot both made an appearance at the traditional Pirate Picnic held earlier that evening and helped introduce the varsity football players to the enthusiastic crowd.

Next game is Senior Night on 10/19/23 against Faith Christian Academy, starting at 7:00 PM on the Michael J. Mersky Field.
