Varsity Football Claims Senior Night Victory Over Lions
The varsity football team hosted Faith Christian Academy on 10/19/23 for Senior Night. After trailing 8-7 at the end of the 1st half, the Pirate defense forced three straight 3 and outs. Never wavering, the Pirates put away the Lions 37-21 to end the regular season on a win.
Quarterback Nate Sparkman connected with Nicky Colontrelle for 3 scores to put the game out of reach. Gary Anderson Anderson forced a fumble on a strip sack that was recovered by teammate Connor O'Brien in the endzone for a defensive touchdown. O'Brien also tallied 13 total tackles defensively for the Pirates. Zavier Solano proved impenetrable on the field with 2 pass breakups and 2 forced fumbles. The Pirates capped off their successful night with a 37-yard field goal from kicker Marlon Dato-Slattery to ensure the victory.
