Stern Qualifies for Swimming 1A Championship
On 10/26/23, the district qualifiers from the varsity swimming team competed in the Class 1A Region 2 Tournament at Rosen Aquatic & Fitness Center in Orlando. Alexandra Stern finished 4th for the Pirates in the 100 Yard Backstroke (1:00.96) and 7th in the 200 Yard Individual Medley (2:11.67) to secure her bid to the State Championship in both events.
Jay Leibik competed in the 50 Yard Freestyle and placed 12th at 23.97. Jozef Wolek recorded a time of 1:18.58 in the 100 Yard Breaststroke to finish 23rd. The boys relay team, consisting of Leibik, Matthew Burris, Alezander Wolek, and J. Wolek placed 11th with 1:42.59.
