Varsity Boys Soccer Moves on to District Semifinals
The varsity boys soccer team hosted Master's Academy of Vero Beach on 1/25/24 for their Class 2A District 8 Quarterfinal game. Although the Patriots netted the first goal, the determined Pirates rallied together to pull ahead 2-1 at the end of the first half. The Pirates succeeded in holding back the Patriots as the team finished the game 3-2 and clinched their spot in the District Semifinals.
Team member Pato Argote proved a force to be reckoned with on the field, and he collected 2 goals for the Pirates. Marlon Dato-Slattery recorded a goal, thanks to a well-executed assist by teammate Bobby Campbell. William Kourakis, Jah Jeune, and Alejandro Azcona were relentless on the field, seizing the ball and attacking every chance they received. At goal, Keegan Nyman made many saves to keep the Patriots at bay and ensure the victory.
