SSAA 2A Championship Victory for Varsity Boys Basketball
The varsity boys basketball team recently hit the road for the SSAA Class 2A Championship Tournament being held at AdventHealth Fieldhouse & Conference Center in Winter Haven. In the playoffs round on 1/19/24, the Pirates faced off against City of Life Christian Academy. The Pirates controlled the floor against the Warriors the entire game, defeating their opponents 60-55 and moving on to the final round.
Scoring for the Pirate team in the playoff game were Nate Sparkman, 18 points; Gary Anderson, 14 points; Cody Simmonds, 12 points; Jayzere Cannon, 7 points; Wes Nobile, 5 points; Mike Chavers, 2 points; Cameron Barnes, 1 point; and Sean Stalheber, 1 point.
The Pirates took on Boca Raton Christian School in the finals on 1/20/24.
Putting up points for the Pirates in the Championship game were Simmonds (15), Sparkman (11), Anderson (11), Stalheber (6), Nobile (3), Cannon (3), and Jack Johnson (2).
