Varsity Boys Basketball Sinks Win Over Hustlers
The varsity boys basketball team traveled to Melbourne on 1/30/24 to take on Melbourne Central Catholic High School. The thrilling game of back and forth saw the Pirates lead 8-7 over their opponents in the 1st quarter and maintain an 11-10 lead going into halftime. The Hustlers rallied to tie up the 3rd quarter 26-26, but the Pirates preserved in the 4th quarter to bring home a 40-35 win.
Gary Anderson dominated the scoreboard for the Pirates with 18 points. Teammates Cody Simmonds and Carson Yates netted 6 points apiece for the team. Jayzere Cannon put up 5 points, and Cameron Barnes netted 3. Jack Johnson tallied 2 points to complete the Pirates' winning night.
