Varsity Girls Lacrosse Holds Back Warriors

On 2/13/24, the varsity girls lacrosse team opened their regular season at home on the Michael J. Mersky Field against Jupiter High School. After trading sets of goals early in the 1st quarter, the Pirates closed out the period leading 6-3. The Warriors rallied to tie the game up with the Pirates in the 2nd quarter, but the determined Pirates persisted to stay ahead of their opponents in the remaining quarters and finish the contest with a 20-13 victory.

CJ Fykes led the scoring with 7 goals and 1 assist and added some incredible work in the draw circle. Caitlin Moscrip was right behind with 4 goals and 1 assist, and teammate Aerin Russell put forth 3 goals and 1 assist for the Pirate team. Mary Kathryn Watson and Lily O'Brien tallied 2 goals and 1 assist apiece. Carrington Brown and Margaret Fykes each netted 1 goal, and Madeline Richards provided 1 assist. At goal, eighth-grader Maddie Moscrip displayed a stellar performance with 11 saves and an interception. 
 
Next game is away on 2/21/24 at Sebastian River High School in Sebastian, starting at 6:00 PM.
