Grandparents and Special Friends Day

I look forward to our events on campus, but the Grandparents and Special Friends Day is near the top for me. Maybe it is because Mimi and I are now grandparents, and we can’t wait until we have the opportunity to participate in Grandparents Day.

Our grandparents play a key role at Saint Edward's, and seeing them on campus and enjoying spending time with their grandchildren is really special. There's a buzz that fills the air as generations come together to celebrate family bonds and create lasting memories. Many of our grandparents pay tuition or are the primary contact in an emergency. They come to sporting events and musicals, and some have been known to help with homework!

As I walked through campus, I couldn't help but notice the smiles on everyone's faces. Grandparents smile with pride as they walk with their grandchildren. I heard laughter from children as they showed their grandparents their classrooms and introduced them to their friends.

As I watched the day unfold, I was reminded of grandparents' impact on our lives. They are the keepers of our family history, the source of wisdom and guidance and the embodiment of unconditional love. On Grandparents and Special Friends Day, we have the chance to honor them and celebrate the invaluable role they play in shaping our lives. It's a day I look forward to every year, a day filled with love, laughter and cherished memories that will last a lifetime.

Thank you to all of our grandparents and special friends; we look forward to seeing you again next year!
