Varsity Baseball Opens Season on the Road

The varsity baseball team opened their regular season with an away game at Palm Bay Magnet High School in Palm Bay on 2/23/24. The Pirates fought hard on the field but ultimately fell to their opponents 5-18.

Trey Dunlap started the game on the mound for the Pirates, pitching 1 inning and surrendering 8 runs. Reid Morris followed, pitching 2 innings and allowing 7 runs. Finishing the game for the Pirates, pitcher Graham Hutton pitched 1 inning and only gave up 3 runs.

On the Pirate offensive side, Hutton drove home the first run with a ground ball to take an early 1-0 lead. Jacob Arbelaez went 2-3 at the plate, scoring 1 run for the Pirates. Dunlap went 1-2, scoring twice and adding 1 RBI. Cyprian McIntosh added 1 hit and scored 1 run, and teammate Jaden Jackson added 1 RBI on a sacrifice fly.
 
Next game is at home on 2/28/24 versus Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, starting at 3:30 PM on Blue Diamond Field.
