A Big Win at the IRC Envirothon Competition

Meghan Buckley
Wednesday morning, 25 upper school and 24 middle school students departed for the 2024 Indian River Lagoon Envirothon Competition. Students had worked to prepare for the competition by studying resources related to the six categories - aquatics, forestry, soils and land use, wildlife and the Indian River Lagoon. All teams performed very well and had a wonderful time answering questions at the various stations set up at the Environmental Learning Center.

A big congratulations goes out to Team BioBros who brought home trophies for the aquatics and soils categories, overall winner for Indian River County and highest score in the whole competition, earning them a spot at the Florida State Envirothon Competition on Friday, April 19, and Saturday, April 20. Thank you and congratulations to all the students who participated. We hope you come out again next year!
