Varsity Track & Field Participates in Rescheduled South Fork Meet

The varsity track and field team headed to Stuart on 3/27/24 to compete in a meet hosted by South Fork High School. The Pirates faired well in the events, with the girls team finishing 4th and the boys team finishing 7th.

For the boys team, Jack Curley set a personal record of 5:03 in the 1600m to place 6th, recorded a 5th place finish in the 800m, and placed 5th in Javelin with a personal record of 33.34m. Dean Sincavage finished 6th in the 1600m at 5:51 to set a personal record. Matthew Cocks broke both his personal record and the school record in Discus with this 24.44m throw to place 8th. Cocks also set a personal record in Javelin with his 26.72m throw, and teammate William Suleman set a personal record in Discus with 17.81m. The boys relay team of Jamin Dunham, Sincavage, Aneesh Chalasani, and Trey Donohoe secured a 5th place finish in the 4x800.

For the girls team, Elizabeth Campbell captured a 1st place victory and set both a personal and school record with her 100.81 in the 400m. Campbell also recorded 1st place in the 800m and set a personal and school record in the 200m with 27.93. Jacquelyn Perrin finished 7th in the 1600m, and teammate Isabella Peter set a personal record in the event. Nahlia Hebig set a personal record in the 200m at 30.48. Mia Perez nabbed 2nd place in Javelin with her 23.42m throw, which also broke both the school record and her personal record. She also placed 8th in Discus. Meagan Baker recorded a 5th place finish in Discus and a 4th place finish in Shot Put. Setting personal records in the Long Jump were Marlo Wilkerson with 4.14m and Milani Perez with 3.22m.  The 4x100m Relay team of Mia Perez, M. Wilkerson, Riley Wilkerson, and Tajani Gayle recorded a 5th place finish for the Pirates.
 
Next meet is away on 4/6/24 at The Benjamin School in Palm Beach Gardens, starting at 8:00 AM.
