Another Successful Meet in the Books for Varsity Track & Field

The varsity track and field team traveled to The Benjamin School in Palm Beach Gardens to take part in the 4/6/24 meet. Both teams faired well at the event, with the boys team finishing in 5th place overall and the girls team taking 4th place overall.

For the boys team, Jack Curley finished 7th place in the 1600 m, dropping 3 seconds for a personal record of 5:00.32. He also finished 5th place in the 3200m and 8th place in Javelin. Matthew Cocks set personal records in the 400m with 1:02.95 and in Javelin with a 27.30m throw. William Suleman recorded a new personal record in both Javelin (28.08m) and Discus (18.56m). Christian Peter acquired a personal record in the 800m, and teammate Harley Postlethwaite recorded a personal record in the 3200m.

For the girls team, Elizabeth Campbell crushed her personal record in the 1600m by 8 seconds (5:43) to grab 1st place in the event. She also set a personal record of 2:33 in the 800m with her 1st place finish. Meagan Baker captured 3rd place in Discus, and her 8th place 9.08m throw in Shot Put broke her previously set school record and helped set her new personal best. Jacquelyn Perrin finished 6th place in the 1600 m. Isabella Peter dropped 26 seconds in the 1600m to hit a huge personal record milestone at 6:34. Also setting personal records were Milani Perez in the 100 m and Long Jump, Nahlia Heibg in the 400m, and Kamara Simon in the 400 m.
 
Next meet is away on 4/12/24 at South Fork High School in Stuart, starting at 4:00 PM.
