Excellent Performance by Varsity Track & Field at South Fork Meet

On 4/12/24, the varsity track and field team returned to South Fork High School to compete in a meet. Several Pirate athletes saw all of their hard work come together with their stellar performance in their respective events. 

For the boys team, Jack Curley finished 5th place in the 1600m with a personal record of 4:52 to drop 8 seconds and recorded 7th place in the 3200m. Trey Donohoe hit a personal record in the 400m improving his time by 3 seconds, and Matthew Cocks also saw a new personal record in the 400m. Setting personal records in the 1600m were Jamin Dunham with 5:42 and Dean Sincavage with 5:47, and Dunham also set a new 22 second personal record in the 3200m with his 12:00 run. In field events, Cocks threw a 25.56m in Discus to break his own school record, and William Suleman set a new personal best in Discus with 18.86m.

For the girls team, Riley Wilkerson hit a new personal best at 30.13 in the 200m, as did teammate Milani Perez at 33.12. Jacquelyn Perrin recorded a 2:48 run in the 800m for a new personal record. Audrey Elliott set a new personal record in the 100m, and Kamara Simon set one in the 800m. In the 4x400m relay, Mia Perez, Nahlia Hebig, and Perrin secured a 7th place finish. Representing the Pirates in field events, Mia Perez captured 1st place with her 27.55m Javelin throw to break the school record and set a new personal best, and she finished 3rd place in Discus. Meagan Baker placed 3rd in the Shot Put, 6th in Javelin, and 6th in Discus. Setting personal records in the Long Jump were Hebig with 4.18m and Simon with 3.59m.
 
Next meet is away on 4/19/24 at the Falcon Classic at Jensen Beach High School in Jensen Beach, starting at 4:00 PM.
