In Case You Missed It: Middle School Head Announcement

Dear Saint Edward’s School Community,

I am pleased to announce that Mr. Jason Dowdy will assume the position of Head of Middle School effective July 1, 2024.

Mr. Dowdy was the unanimous choice after visiting campus and interviewing with faculty, students, parents, administrators and the Leadership Team.

Mr. Dowdy is the current Head of Middle School at Trinity Preparatory School in Winter Park, FL, a position he has held since 2008. Prior to serving as Head of Middle School, Mr. Dowdy was a middle school teacher and eventually the Assistant Principal at Trinity Preparatory, where he started in 2000.

Jason and his wife, Sara Dowdy, are the proud parents of a son and daughter who are currently in college. Sara is a middle school science teacher at Trinity Preparatory where she has taught since 1999. She is also the head varsity coach for the boys and girls cross country and track teams. After vacationing here when their children were small, they both are excited to trade the concrete jungle of Orlando for the salty breezes of Vero Beach. Jason adds, "What an unbelievable opportunity to join such an outstanding school community with amazing students, teachers and administrators. When I stepped foot on campus it immediately felt like home, and I can't wait to join the Pirate crew and contribute to a very bright future at Saint Edward's School!"

The community will have an opportunity to meet Mr. Dowdy at an organized event before school starts.
