Close First Game for MS Girls Volleyball's Blue Team

On 9/2/25, the blue team for middle school girls volleyball traveled to Storm Grove Middle School in Vero Beach for their first game of the season. The Pirates had an epic 3-set battle with the Stingrays, with the Pirates easily sweeping the first game before falling behind early in the second game. The Pirates battled back but narrowly lost the set 25-27 to the Stingrays. The third set was also a point-for-point battle, with the Pirates ultimately falling 13-15 after several hard-fought rallies between the two teams.

Audrey Elliott spearheaded the Pirates' defensive effort, leading the team in digs and contributing 8 service points and 4 aces. Gertie Busch-Dunford, Sloane Weber, Maria Victoria Wilkinson Perilla, and Kersti Stalquist all contributed and worked seamlessly together in the back court defensive effort. With 12 kills and 7 aces, Reagan Miner led the Pirates' offensive attack, which was also supported by strong hitting from Stalquist, Gabby Antenucci, and Sarabeth Peshke, who contributed multiple kills and 4 aces. Setter Violet Clemente fed the Pirates' hitters with 12 assists and also had 3 kills of her own. 
Stella Morris led the blocking effort with 2 key blocks, and the Pirates also saw great blocking and net play from Niah Boulding and Khloe Prochette, who also swung for 2 kills.
 
Next game is at home on 9/8/25 versus Berean Christian School, starting at 4:00 PM in the Gonzalez-Lobo Activities Center.
