  1. Do you have a favorite memory from when you were in elementary/middle/high school?
    • Some of my favorite memories from high school is playing sports with my friends and teammates. The excitement of running onto the field and the sense of pride when we worked together as a team.  Some of the best moments came after the games—laughing in the locker room, celebrating our wins, and encouraging each other after tough losses. Playing sports in high school taught me teamwork, perseverance, and gave me friendships and memories that I will always carry with me.
  2. What’s a fun fact your coworkers might not guess about you?
    • A fun fact about me is that I love fly fishing, a skill I first learned while in college in the mountains of Tennessee. It quickly became one of my favorite hobbies, and I still enjoy the peacefulness and challenge it brings.
  3. Share a book, movie or individual that’s had a meaningful impact on your life. In what ways has this shaped your personal or professional journey?
    • Dr. Mark Wickem at Lee University inspired me to pursue a career in education. He was a professor in the Health Science Department, and I had the opportunity to take several classes with him, including Kinesiology and Anatomy & Physiology. His passion for the content he taught, combined with the way he made his students feel confident and knowledgeable, left a lasting impact on me. Watching how he connected with his students and brought the material to life inspired me to do the same in my own classroom and to create an environment where my students feel encouraged, capable, and excited to learn.
  4. What are you most excited about this year at Saint Edward’s School?
    • After teaching high school and college for the past 21 years, I am excited to begin this new chapter in the Lower School at Saint Edward’s. The learning energy and curiosity that LS students bring to the classroom creates such a unique and refreshing environment, and I am eager to experience that firsthand. What I am most looking forward to is taking my fifth grade students to Marine Lab, where they will have the chance to connect what we learn in class to real-world experiences. I believe Marine Lab is one of the true highlights of the Lower School and an opportunity that will stay with students for a lifetime.
